Google Lens

Google Lens is a visual search and assistance tool that lets users search, learn, and solve problems using their device’s camera or images. The homework-specific experience, formerly known as Socratic by Google, is now integrated into Google Lens within the Google app. Students can point their camera at math problems, science questions, or text-based assignments and receive step-by-step explanations, related concepts, and helpful resources rather than just final answers.

The tool supports a wide range of subjects, including algebra, geometry, physics, biology, history, and literature. It recognizes printed text, handwriting, and diagrams, then uses Google’s AI and search capabilities to surface explanations, videos, and reference material.
