Echoed is a lightweight, privacy-focused communication platform designed as a modern alternative to Discord. Built with Tauri instead of Electron, it delivers real-time voice, video, and text communication while using a fraction of the system resources. Its primary purpose is to provide communities, teams, and friend groups with a fast, distraction-free environment for collaboration and social interaction without ads, tracking, or invasive verification requirements.

Echoed supports voice channels, video calls, and screen sharing, enabling both casual hangouts and structured meetings. Integrated task boards allow users to organize projects, track to-dos, and coordinate work directly alongside their conversations. A dedicated bot API enables developers to extend functionality with custom automation, moderation tools, and integrations. With typical memory usage around ~90MB versus Discord’s ~700MB+, Echoed is optimized for performance on low-end hardware and multitasking setups.
