Whimsical is a collaborative workspace designed for structured thinking, planning, and communication through visual documents. It combines multiple tools—flowcharts, wireframes, mind maps, projects, and documents—into a unified interface, allowing teams to move from ideas to execution without switching platforms. Users can create flowcharts to map processes, user journeys, and system logic; build wireframes to prototype product interfaces; and develop mind maps to explore concepts, requirements, or information architecture.

The Projects feature supports organizing work into boards with tasks, statuses, and priorities, while Docs integrates text-based documentation with visual elements such as diagrams and embedded boards. Real-time collaboration enables multiple team members to comment, edit, and iterate simultaneously, with version history and permissions control to manage changes. Whimsical also offers templates for common workflows, keyboard shortcuts for fast diagramming, and integrations with tools like Slack and Jira to embed visuals into existing workflows.
