Talk to Books

Talk to Books is an experimental Google Research tool that lets users explore ideas and discover books by asking natural-language questions instead of using traditional keyword search. Rather than returning standard search results, it searches across a large collection of book passages and surfaces responses that semantically match the meaning of your query. Users can enter conversational prompts, philosophical questions, or topic-based queries, and the system returns short excerpts from books that are contextually relevant, along with title and author information.

This makes it useful for ideation, research, and serendipitous discovery of new reading material. Readers, students, and researchers can use it to see how different authors discuss a concept, compare viewpoints, or gather quotes and references.
