Cntrl

Cntrl is a lightweight agent that turns any Windows PC into a scriptable node on your local network, enabling direct control and monitoring without external cloud services. It exposes your machine’s capabilities over a simple HTTP API, allowing other devices or services to query system status, control media, and trigger custom automations in real time. The primary purpose of Cntrl is to make your PC behave like an IoT device that can be orchestrated alongside other smart-home or automation components.

Once installed, Cntrl can report key system metrics such as CPU, RAM, and storage usage, and can surface information about active processes or media playback. It supports media controls (play, pause, skip, volume adjustments) and input simulation, making it possible to script interactions that would normally require keyboard or mouse actions. The tool is designed to be lightweight and local-first, with no mandatory cloud accounts or external dependencies. Its HTTP interface is intentionally simple, so it can be integrated with home automation platforms, custom dashboards, or small scripts with minimal setup.
