Woodwork for Inventor

Woodwork for Inventor is a specialized add-on for Autodesk Inventor designed specifically for the furniture and wood product manufacturing industry. It streamlines the entire design-to-production workflow by automating routine tasks, reducing manual data entry, and ensuring that 3D models are directly usable for manufacturing. The primary purpose of the tool is to eliminate common bottlenecks in furniture design, such as material assignment, hardware placement, and generation of production documentation.

The software extends Inventor with wood-oriented features, including automatic material assignment with grain direction control, edge banding definition, and associative hardware placement. It can automatically generate detailed bills of materials (BOM), cutting lists, CNC-ready data, and drawings based on the 3D model, maintaining associativity so that all documentation updates when the design changes. Woodwork for Inventor also supports multi-layer materials, sculpting, and mortise-and-tenon or dowel joint preparation, making it suitable for complex cabinetry and custom furniture. Integrated nesting and CAM export capabilities help prepare parts for CNC machining with minimal additional setup.
