Trnscrb

Trnscrb is a lightweight, menu bar application that automatically detects your online meetings and transcribes them locally on your Mac. Its primary purpose is to capture accurate, privacy-preserving transcripts in real time, then make them instantly accessible and searchable directly from Claude Desktop. By running transcription on-device with Whisper, Trnscrb avoids sending your audio to external servers, supporting teams and individuals with stricter confidentiality needs.

The tool continuously monitors for active calls and meetings, so you do not need to remember to start or stop recording manually. Once a meeting is detected, Trnscrb generates a transcript using Whisper’s speech-to-text capabilities, storing the results locally for fast retrieval. All transcripts are indexed and can be searched from within Claude Desktop, enabling you to quickly surface key decisions, action items, or specific phrases from past conversations.
