Tambo

Tambo is an open-source toolkit for integrating AI agents directly into React applications, enabling them to “speak” your existing UI. Its primary purpose is to let developers connect LLM-powered agents to real interface components, so agents can not only generate responses but also interact with, control, and update the app’s visual state. Tambo abstracts away the complexity of wiring up streaming, state synchronization, and protocol handling, allowing teams to focus on behavior and UX rather than infrastructure.

At its core, Tambo provides a structured way to map agent actions to React components and props, giving models a reliable interface to trigger UI changes and workflows. It includes built-in support for streaming responses, so users can see agent output in real time, and robust state management to keep the agent’s internal context aligned with the app’s state tree. Tambo also supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), making it easier to plug in external tools, data sources, and backends that agents can call.
