Pop2Piano

Pop2Piano is a research system for automatically generating piano covers from pop music audio. Instead of requiring MIDI, scores, or symbolic input, it takes full-mix stereo pop songs and produces a solo piano rendition that captures the main melodic and harmonic content. The project page provides stereo comparison samples where one channel plays the generated piano cover and the other plays the original song, allowing detailed side‑by‑side listening and evaluation.

Pop2Piano focuses on preserving musical structure, melody lines, and chord progressions while simplifying dense arrangements into something playable on piano. It is primarily targeted at music information retrieval researchers, AI music generation specialists, and developers interested in audio-to-symbolic or audio-to-arrangement transformation.
