Multitui

Multitui is a macOS “app factory” that converts terminal-based TUI (text user interface) programs into standalone native applications. Its primary purpose is to let users run command-line tools as individual Mac apps, with their own icons, windows, and behavior, without changing the underlying tool. This allows developers and power users to integrate terminal utilities more cleanly into their macOS workflows while preserving full TUI functionality.

Multitui wraps existing CLI programs in a native macOS shell, generating one app per tool so each can be launched directly from Spotlight, the Dock, or Launchpad. It manages terminal windows, appearance, and window titles, giving TUIs a more polished, application-like presence. The tool supports configuration of startup commands, environment variables, and working directories, so each app can be tailored to specific tasks or environments. Because Multitui focuses on packaging rather than modifying code, it works with a wide range of existing TUI applications, including system tools, developer utilities, and custom scripts.
