Claude Engineer

Claude Engineer is an open-source command-line tool that turns Anthropic’s Claude models into a practical software engineering assistant for local development workflows. It provides an interactive, terminal-based interface where users can iteratively specify tasks, review AI-generated plans, and refine outputs, making it suitable for complex coding, refactoring, or documentation work. The tool supports multi-step “agentic” workflows: it can analyze a codebase, propose changes, generate or modify files, and explain its reasoning as it proceeds.
